In my experience with direct sales in both working the field and researching, I have come across some of the top direct sales companies, and I will list ten of those for you shortly.  Ultimately, the company you decide to go with depends largely on where your interest lies.  You have to love what you do and love your product, otherwise you won't be successful.  You must be self motivated and self disciplined to succeed in working from home in direct sales.  Also, you must be patient because success does not come overnight, and most likely you will be incurring some expenses up front to invest in and grow your business.  With that being said, here are a few of the top direct sales opportunities.

Looking not necessarily to work-from-home, but rather work on-your-own? Then working as an independent contractor might be a great place to start. There are many independent opportunites out there in areas such as sales and travel, but one in particular is at the top of my list and works great for me. You can choose to work part-time, sporadically to make extra income or even full-time. Working as an independent contractor you can accept as many jobs as you like or as little as you like.
